Engaging the Customer with Blogging and
Social Media
Blogs, search engines and social networks like Facebook and
YouTube are changing the way we do business. In this new
era, whether they like your product or hate it, customers
are talking to each other as much or more than they are
talking to you. Customer service professionals need to know how to use the
new online tools to properly participate in this online
conversation. This workshop discusses the social media tools
that are most relevant for consumer affairs and customer
service, and shows how companies can best use them to engage
with their customers.
You will leave with:
- Working knowledge of ways top companies are
interacting with customers using new tools.
- Terminology and tips for helping your company to
connect with customers and improve relationships.
- New data from research groups devoted to
understanding how social networking will impact our
future.
Susan Getgood, Getgood Strategic
Marketing Inc.
Susan
Getgood was among the pioneers in introducing children and
parents to the Internet as an expert in online safety and
General Manager of Cyber Patrol, one of the world’s first
Internet filters. Her 20+ years in the computer software
industry included leading a global marketing team as Senior
Vice President of Marketing for SurfControl, with offices in
the U.S., England, Australia and seven other countries. A
results-oriented strategic marketer, Susan knows how to
build brands using technology, policy and good old fashioned
high-quality products. In 2004, she founded GetGood
Strategic Marketing Inc. to help bring blogs into the mix as
an indispensable marketing tool. Today, her firm helps
public and private companies and organizations build brands
and drive revenue with integrated marketing and
communications strategies. Her professional blog is
Marketing Roadmaps. She also writes a personal photo
blog,
Snapshot Chronicles and contributes to a number of group
blogs. Susan was named a Fellow of the
Society for New Communications Research in 2008.
